Ocracoke Island is only accessible by ferry, and as a result of its relative isolation from the rest of North Carolina's coast, Ocracoke offers a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere that is pleasantly different from the busy commercial beaches.

Fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, and many other activities are available as well as an amazing variety of historically significant landmarks. Blackbeard once called Ocracoke home, feral horses still inhabit the island, and the Ocracoke lighthouse stands as a testament to the history of the island.
